Fairy Meadows & Hunza Tours

Fairy Meadows & Hunza Tours

Overview

Fairy Meadows is a lush green plateau situated at the foot of Nanga Parbat, located on the Western edge of the Himalayan Range. The name Fairy Meadows comes from the legend that fairies reside in this picturesque area. Offering breathtaking views of Nanga Parbat (8,125 meters), the ninth highest mountain in the world, it attracts many visitors.

Nanga Parbat, meaning 'Naked Mountain' in Persian, is known locally as Diamer, or 'Monarch of the God.' It is also called the Killer Mountain due to the many climbers who have perished trying to summit it. Fairy Meadows can be accessed by a 540-kilometer drive through the Karakorum Highway, leading to Raikot Bridge, where jeeps take travelers to the village of Tatto.

From there, a trek of 2-3 hours leads to the stunning Fairy Meadows plateau, where you can stay in traditional wooden huts or camps, surrounded by majestic views of Nanga Parbat. For adventure lovers, a full-day hike to the base camp (3,900 meters) offers an unforgettable experience, with paths through forests and the Beyal Camp (3,500 meters). The trek is moderately challenging but rewarding.
